Why PIKI exists

PIKI started long before it was an app.

For more than 20 years, PIKI’s founder kept notes about the people closest to him: clothing sizes, favourite brands, things they mentioned liking, restaurants, jewellery, gift ideas and the small details that are easy to forget.

Gift planning often happened months ahead. Sometimes Christmas gifts were already being planned in February. That same attention went into buying for his partner and children.

After years of manually keeping those clues, the idea emerged that everybody should have a simple way to do the same thing. The idea for what eventually became PIKI began roughly a decade before the app was built.

PIKI turns that real-life habit into a product. Instead of relying on memory, scattered notes and guesswork, PIKI brings Gift Profiles, Wishlists, sizes, preferences and important dates together while keeping private gift planning private enough to preserve the surprise.
